The 0370 Special Operations Officer MOS is a primary MOS for officers who are the primary leaders within Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), Marine Raider Battalions, and the Marine Corps Special Operations community.

Special Operations Officers (SOO) are Marine Officers responsible for the organization, training, planning, employment and execution of the Marine special operations teams (MSOT), Marine special operations company (MSOC) and Marine raider battalions (MRB) across the spectrum of the special operations core activities of special reconnaissance (SR), direct action (DA), foreign internal defense (FID), security force assistance (SFA)and counter-terrorism (CT), tasks in support of unconventional warfare (UW), and countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) as part of the Marine Corps component to USSOCOM.
